It's been too long since I last saw my cutie-pie months old nephew Damien and my lovely cousin, Jo. Coincidentally, it was Jo's Birthday so I treated her to lunch. This was last Friday, which was a public holiday for us. We had such a great time at Amelio restaurant. The waiters were attentive and oh-so-kind, regularly checking in on us to ask if we were comfortable. The food is great too! Although it was tempting to eat in an air-conditioned space, we chose to sit outside, embracing fresh air, sun and beautiful scenery. We made it a mission to wake up early one Sunday morning to get there before the crowd of exuberant little people did. Imagine how thrilled kids will be to see these bears. 14 Eats : YL Old Taste Cake House, MyTown

I mentioned earlier in this post that I would get one of these cakes to try and I did with a girlfriend, over Merdeka weekend! It's Taiwan's traditional taste sponge cake, freshly baked. I was excited to see a tray filled with wobbly chocolate cake batter going into the large oven they had placed in front of the store where it was visible for us to see. Ooh, I wish I could stay and watch the cake rise to it's full glory but 40minutes is a long wait.
