6 Suria Kinrara, Puchong - A home for many

A 4-block apartment priced between RM120k to RM140k for a 712sq unit with 3 rooms and 2 baths. Shophouses below. It's a good buy for any young person starting out in life and perfect for many in the lower income group. Also convenient transport-wise, the bus stops right in front.

I've met some of the neighbours, and I find them to be a decent lot. Noticed some units being renovated extensively. Designwise, boxy but not too typical a low cost look. First impressions point towards a sign that this could be a pretty ok-maintained place to live.

My only grouse would be the maintenance fee. At RM130 per month, that's tough on any retirees pocket...just saying, best to buy a home where you're not saddled with lifelong commitments.

Note: Covered car park for higher floor units (from the 11th floor, if I heard correctly)

    I went to view the apartment this morning as I'm interested in that too for my own stay. However, I'm still full of doubts whether this apartment is money-worth buying because it seems to be lots of negative comments in the Internet on the structural issue (abandoned project)and I noticed the occupancy rate till to date is quite low. Appreciate if you could share with me your view.

    I was told that the water supply was only connected early last month. Many are just starting on renovations and there's still a number of owners who have yet to collect their keys. The pass cards and security doors are not in place yet. That could explain the low occupancy rate.

    However, I'm not aware of any structural defects which could lead to the collapse of the building, rest of defects can be rectified.

    But don't take my word for it because I'm no expert in this field - I am relying on others for advice as well.

    The best thing about this we get to see what we buy so we know what we're up against.

    I guess if you've got your heart set on it, the only thing you can do is to choose a unit with a good carpark, already with some neighbours in (see who they are if you can) and one with better finishing and manageable defects. You should view as many units until you're satisfied.

    Maybe it would be a good idea to view Vista Lavender which is just opposite, for comparison sake. Priced within the same range. Saw a couple of units up for sale. I've not checked it out but it seems reasonably neat and maintenance fee is only RM70 I believe?
